The holidays are upon us. I know, I know. Where did the year go?
You either love them or hate them. I tend to get this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia when I shop for my kids, and it might be one of my most favorite times of year.
If you hate it? You can have Amazon deliver their presents right to your door.
Here’s some of the top holiday toys of 2017:
1. Fingerlings Monkeys
Kids are going crazy for these colorful little monkeys. They respond to motion, sound, and touch. Their heads turn, their eyes blink, and if you pet them or blow kisses, they respond. You can also hang them upside down from a mobile, baby swing, or car seat and let them entrain your child so you can get dinner going or take a shower. They come in a variety of colors and cost as little as $15.
2. Hatchimals
This 4-pack of little Hatchimals is under $10 and the perfect addition to your child’s already growing collection or a nice gift to get them started if they don’t already have some of these cute creatures. You rub the purple heart until it turns pink, and when it does, it’s ready to hatch.
3. Hatchimals Nursery Playset
Now you need a Hatchimals nursery to go with the new babies. This playset is $30 and comes with an exclusive Hatchimal and has a crib swing and a slide. The best part? No batteries required.
4. LeapFrog Scoop and Learn Ice Cream Cart
Your kids will not only have a blast playing with this cart, but will develop their gross motor skills while learning colors and how to count, and building memory skills. It even plays music when pushed around. It’s under $30 and chalk full of fun activities.
5. Teddy Ruxpin
Teddy Ruxpin is back. I had one when I was little, and now I get to buy one for my kids for under $100. He talks, cuddles, and sings. This will be one of those toys your children will always remember.
6. Hot Wheels 9-Pack
Hot Wheels never go out of style. Every child loves them, and for $25, you can add 9 to your collection. Each set includes one car design exclusive to the set. These cars can take a beating — my mom still has a bunch from when my sisters and I were younger that all of her grandkids play with.
7. LEGO Duplo My Town Family House
I love this sweet little house. It will keep your sweeties busy for hours, includes three Duplo figures, and the best part: little Lego food, a cooking pot, flowers, and a brush. For $32, your kids will get years of play out of it.
8. Mag-Genius Magnet Tile Blocks
This award-winning block set sells for $65 and includes 133 pieces, 2 cars, and a storage bin. The 3D magnet tiles create cubes and pyramids, and teach shape recognition and motor skills.
9. Nerf Rival Nemesis MXVII-10K
My kids are going to be over the moon when they see these. This baby fully motorized, and she’s a beaut. $88 will buy me hours upon hours of babysitting time.
10. Tamagotchi Toy Electronic Game
It’s the Tamagotchi 20th anniversary, and it’s not just for kids (you know you want one). You can feed, and take care of this digital friend just like you did way back when. Oh, and your kids will love it to. For $13, you get to take your kids back in time and show them something you used to play with.
Getting our holiday shopping done is easier than ever. No running through every store, fighting crowds, sweating, and hoping to get your hands on those toys your kids just have to have. Now you can sit back, pour yourself a glass of wine, and feel like mother of the year.
