Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy — here’s your first look at all four March girls

Powerhouse director Greta Gerwig is rebooting Little Women and the first official cast photos are here — and all four March sisters are present and accounted for. Forget literally every other nostalgia-induced re-make except this one, because the story of these four young women is timeless and so very beloved.

And if you’re a fan of the Louisa May Alcott books, these cast photos are extremely squeal-worthy.

Starring Emma Watson as Meg, the eldest March sister, Saoirse Ronan as Jo (a huge fan favorite in literary land), Eliza Scanlen as Beth, and Florence Pugh as Amy, the new version of Little Women looks like it’s going to be everything we want it to be.

Here’s the March quartet, filming this week in outside of Boston.

And if these photos weren’t amazing enough, did we mention that Meryl Streep is on board to play the matriarch of the March clan? Yep, she’s starring as Marmee. Timotheé Chalamet as Laurie, the boy next door who falls in love with Jo and then marries another sister (there’s no such thing as spoilers when the book itself was written almost two centuries ago, sorry).

While this is superb casting, many of us are still not over the unrequited love between Christian Bale and Winona Ryder in the ’90s version.

Though it’s safe to assume Ronan and Chalamet will completely slay their roles, respectively. Scanlen (if she looks familiar, you can thank her killer role in HBO’s Sharp Objects) will undoubtedly play a lovely Beth, even if her time on-screen is, uh, bittersweet.

The remake is set to appear on movie screens everywhere sometime next year — most likely Christmastime, because Little Women + holiday emotions go hand in hand.
